Data projector bulbs and slide projector bulbs can be damaged because of such plane reason as frequent projector moving. The bulb itself is rather vulnerable whether hot or cold, so great care should be taken when moving the projector. The filament in the bulb loses almost all tensile strength when it is heated during normal usage. The lamp filament is very sensitive, even if it is cooled properly.

So, whether you have expensive or cheap projector bulbs, it is necessary to be careful when you move the projector. Be sure that the projector mount is fastened securely in order to prevent slips.
